Cosmetic dentistry for the smile you’ve always wanted

An attractive smile can boost your self-esteem, give you the confidence to smile and make you feel good about yourself – so it’s no wonder more and more Fartown patients are investing in cosmetic dentistry to achieve the smile they’ve always wanted.

Whether you’re looking for a brighter, whiter set of teeth or a ‘Hollywood smile makeover’ the dentists at Fartown have both the expertise and the advanced technology to offer you cosmetic dentistry at its very best.

We recognise the importance of aesthetics in dentistry, and in conjunction with maintaining excellent oral health, we can also provide patients with treatment plans to correct overly ‘gummy smiles’, whiten stained or discoloured teeth, re-build chipped or misshapen teeth, straighten crooked teeth and replace lost or damaged teeth.

If you’re interested in discovering what cosmetic dentistry can do for you we’ll happily arrange a comprehensive smile consultation for your dentist to assess the form, function and aesthetics of your teeth. Though teeth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments, for some, cosmetic dentistry may simply mean replacing old metal fillings or straightening misaligned teeth with clear Invisalign braces. Other patients may require a full mouth reconstruction with dental implants, veneers, crowns or bridgework.

Whatever your requirements we can offer you impressive results that will have you smiling every time you look in the mirror.

Our Cosmetic Treatments:

Gaps and spaces

At Fartown Dental Practice we can correct the aesthetics of teeth and gums. For people with concerns about the gaps between their teeth of irregular spacing we can offer you a more uniform and more symmetrical smile.

Dental veneers are thin layers of porcelain that are bonded to the front of the teeth creating a smooth, natural looking finish to a stained, chipped or misaligned tooth. Having invested in the latest CEREC technology, the team at Fartown are able to create precision models from impressions of your teeth and produce your veneers onsite at the practice, saving you both time and money in the process.

Implants can help people who have lost teeth through decay or gum disease, accidents or extreme wear and tear. As a long-term solution to replacing a single tooth or a number of teeth, implants are fitted into the mouth using a small titanium baton. Over a period of four to six months bone will naturally graft around the implant, securing it in place. Once secure a crown is then fitted to the implant, replacing the damaged or missing tooth.

Teeth whitening

i) Whitening in clinic:

Due to the risks associated with in clinic whitening, which include burns and sensitivity, we have decided not to offer whitening in clinic especially considering the fact that in-clinic whitening offers only temporary results. We believe that in clinic whitening is actually detrimental, and therefore we only offer whitening through home kits.

ii) Whitening kits for use at home:

After your dentist has assessed your teeth to make sure there is no gum disease an accurate impression of your teeth is taken and small custom made bleaching trays will be made from the moulds. These trays, into which the gel is applied, are worn by patients at home throughout the night. Although this process takes longer than gel whitening at the clinic it is recommended as the most gentle way in which to whiten your teeth. Your dentist will demonstrate how to use the home whitening kit before you take it home and you’ll be given full written instructions to refer to at home.
